upcycled 747 wing house
The roof of this Malibu estate is made from the wing of a 747.
The house had to be registered with the Federal Aviation Authority lest pilots report a downed plane! I wonder though, if just the right amount of wind charging up the Malibu Canyon hills would make the entire front structure take off!
The house was designed by Studio of Environmental Architecture, who have this to say about the...

live the language
Albin Holmqvist, Gustav Johansson and Niklas Johansson are really killing it with these new EF Live the Language videos for EF International Language Centers. If you saw the first few (I posted the Paris one a little over a month ago), you’ll notice that they’ve really gone above and beyond with this new set. Really digging this song and video by Ben Howard. The video was created by the same gents that brought you dark side of the lens (below). Great Irish scenery too.

dark side of the lens
South swell is pumping today in San Diego. Dawn patrol session this morning got me thinking of the hurricane action happening on the other side of the globe and how that must be stirring up some waves in Europe. I’ll be in Ireland in just a few days, a while this is not going to be a ‘surf trip’ I’m going to make a point to try to get some waves while I’m on the...
